Bioroid Drum Gun Pod -2 Rule

Welp, this is another dumb rule that can be ignored. Just made a screen grab today from Prelude to Battle and it clearly shows the Bioroid Soldiers using the foregrip to hold the Drum while firing, meaning it should have no "awkward construction" as its intentionally designed to have a way to not bounce all over the place.

Maybe an adjustment, -2 if not used with both hands.

Though it seems odd to me that the Masters would make a weapon that would be troublesome to use.

honestly i've generally ignored the penalty in general, on the assumption that they would have designed the Bioroid to handle the weapon and compensate for its design. though i could see a -2 being applied for any non-bioroid mecha attempting to use it, since it really isn't a shape and aiming style that the computers of human mecha would be able to parse well, and would need dedicated software updates to use properly.

Especially since, at least on the picture shown above, the cannon is at an angle relative to the grip. Certainly looks awkward to me.
But penalty only when shooting with one hand, or with one in each hands? Possibly believable.
It also got no sight and a budge hiding the canon from the viewpoint of the mech's head. So technically this could be asking from special aiming protocols from the mech's battle computer to fire. (Go and check...)

... Ok.

So the bioroid do use a laser targeting gizmo, and thus wouldn't need the sight per say as long as they got it on.
BUT they are bioroids, and use a kind of artificial muscle to move, which would be subject to trembling under recoil.
AND the malus is for BURSTS, precisely because the gun is difficult to aim on sight alone and front heavy, which is a good point from a muscle based ballistic analysis.

Still, the comfort handle is supposed to solve just that. So malus only with one hand seems legit. Maybe the whole issue comes from this being a slug weapon being designed by a culture more used to energy weapons?

"Damn it, Zor Prime, use the fore grip to steady the shots! We don't care if one-handing it 'looks cooler'! Accuracy counts too! And the same goes for holding it sideways! You're not some Tiresian gangsta, you vat-scrapping!"

IMHO penalties for awkward design only apply for inexperience with the item in question as you adapt unless it is something that should not be easily overcome (example: the intended user's anatomy is different than the new user, sort of like a human using an Octil Weapon in Rifts or a purpose-built vehicle for a Zebuloid, or a size discrepancy).

...and that's why the lower rating clones hated that oh-so-superior Prime guy.....
