Palladium fan meet & greet

So a group of us is considering a get together that is unaffiliated with Palladium other than that we are Palladium fans and want to game (Palladium is not participating in the meet & greet in any way, and no liability attaches thereto whatsoever). Our consideration is that we'll do it some time in May, rent a cabin or some cabins, have gaming, hanging out, and fun!

The tentative meeting place is southern Illinois. PM me or message me on Facebook (it's being organized on Facebook). I'm Dennis Hughes and my profile pic is the pic of me from the inside cover of Heroes of the Megaverse.

Thoughts, ideas, and suggestions are welcome!

I would love to but it is kind of short notice. If it had been planned for next year I might consider it.

We have a week to determine location, date, and time.

I'm interested in going. Will have to switch some holiday time around work to accomodate it. But IF I can make it, I'll definitely try.

This looks to be a lot of fun, and it is near the Palladium Headquarters. They are finalizing who will be there. All Palladium fans are welcome, but it may cost more if you wait to secure a spot. The 14th of Feb. is the last date to let them know for the main group I believe.

It looks like this is still happening, for anyone who might be interested.

Southern Illinois?!! Where in southern Illinois? I'm at work and facebook is a restricted site. I gots to know!!!

I literally live 35 minutes from Clark co. Illinois. So this would be awesome if it were reasonably close.

It is in Michigan...

They need people to decide if they are camping with us by February 14th so we can reserve a cabin with a kitchen and a campground, cost will be the cost of renting the location divided by the number of people coming and is expected to be about 40$ a person not including food and transport costs.

If you need some special consideration (like an outlet near your bedding for a sleep apnea machine) please tell them so we can make arrangements for you, also please tell them if you intend to camp or be in a cabin, it effects where we reserve.

Please note that if you live in the area and want to visit that the campground charges a visitor's fee, they have no control over that and have no intention of asking for special treatment.

For those wondering who They are, here's a facebook event link. I'm gonna try to go, but right now it all kinda depends on money for me.

EDIT: I am not organizing this, just passing the word

I should read my posts better before getting all excited. It said, "tentative location is southern Illinois". Rats.

This is a really interesting idea.

Of course, there doesn't have to just be one in the middle of the country. There could be others at other locations. Heck, people could coordinate better for the normal Conventions out there to drive Palladium from the fan base.

I believe there are groups that frequent the different conventions. They are somewhat organized in the Ambassador section I think.

This is very true.

I am excited about the Fan Meet & Greet and I hope it rocks. If it becomes an annual thing in years without an OH, I'd love to attend some year. I promise to bring some top shelf liquor with me. Nothing says "forget that fight we had on the forums" like a couple bottles of nice vodka.

Your idea about multiple Fan Meet & Greets is a good one, but that takes someone to step up to coordinate, advertise and organize. Kudos to Rat Bastard, Subjugator and whoever else is making this first one happen. Using the KOA campground is a smart idea and since those are scattered across the country, that may be a good starting point for others who want to launch a Meet & Greet.

I am in Los Angeles and unfortunately Palladium doesn't have a strong fanbase in the West. I do not know if a "Palladium Rifts Mini-Con" could be launched out in California, but maybe it could. Of course, anyone launching a Meet & Greet has to be ready for it to be small on year one, but with the potential to grow in later years.

It will hopefully go off without a hitch. I think there is even a planned stop by the shop. I'm starting to wonder who is gonna run what games, and if maybe I shouldn't have a bit prepared.

This is happening this weekend. Random people showing up are welcome. No need to plan ahead. Just drop everything and go. We plan on going to the Palladium Books offices on Saturday afternoon. As I said all are welcome.

As a GM, I always show up with an extra 4-6 hour adventure + 6 pregens at any convention because invariable a scheduled GM doesn't show or more players show up and they need an extra GM. And if I don't use it that con, it stays in the bag for the next one.

This went very well in that those of us that showed enjoyed ourselves and had a chance to chat with Kevin for like 3 hours on Saturday. A review by the Poster of the Year can be found here.
