A thought about mini-missiles

Unread post by Gabriel_V »

I was thinking, which is dangerous as usual...

So, RUE has retconned the old missiles away. All that remains are the CS improved missiles from CWC. This means SRMs do 2d4x10 or 2d6x10.

Why not just use the old SRMs for an updated mini-missile chart? After all, the 1d4x10 and 1d6x10 varieties are the only ones that anyone ever really uses. Even the sourcebooks admit that much between the lines (MD: usually 1d4x10 or 1d6x10 depending on mini-missile type).

Cut the ranges of the longer range ones down to 1 or 2 miles, and TA DA!

I also use the fragmentation missiles alot because they have a superior blast radius, allowing me to cook 4-5 guys at once. When you spray the missiles in a volley, you also create a long line of explosions that act as a makeshift smokescreen, which is nice. They also affect Invulnerable/Impervious to Energy mages, which plasma missiles do not when we play.

What type of missiles did they get rid of? I did not notice in RUE.

Who is this anybody that you speak of?

I know many players and GMs that use more than just AP and Plasma Mini-Missiles.

Please, don't use sweeping statements.

That's a little harsh. You could have said "please don't...", "I would appreciate it if you didn't" or simply "I don't agree".
The word "THAN" is important. Something is "better than" something else, not "better then", it's "rather than" not "rather then".

I was actually coming to this thread to fix that after I thought about it.

They just standardized the chart from CWC and ditched to old, weaker ones form the old Main Book. All the various types are still there, but they just hit harder now for everybody and not just the CS.
