Ogre facial hair
Does anyone know any ogre NPCs in any PB game with appreciable amounts of facial hair?
PF page 306 calls them hairy but page 305 only has their body reflect this, their faces look smooth. No might beard like the troll on 307.
1st Ed was different since page 200 had at least some cheek whiskers and page 4 even more so, almost at beard level. Still not all that impressive though.
I was wondering about this due to an NPC in Mercenaries page 65 who has no beard in his picture. Dawud is a devout Muslim and I thought growing a beard was a symbol of devotion.
Then again this pic is not current since it said he grew a long black moustache and one is not there.
Also says he shaves his head so maybe it is a warrior thing. He pilots power armor so maybe it gets overheated in those things making a full beard too exhausting?

Ogres are, IIRC, supposed to be similar to some of the different species of man that used to exist, with a fair implication of (old style) neanderthal. this would suggest they can grow facial hair. it may just be that ones that interact with non-ogres shave more often?

Not really; Rifts has them as taller than humans, and PF2e pushed that even further.
That said, I would have ogres be hairy all over.

Some kinds of humans are described as having limited beard growth

There's an illo, on p 42 of Atlantis, with a T man whom I take to be an ogre with a beard.

Although one might question how much we can rely on Splugorth-owned Ogres to represent inherent properties of the race since they do Bio-wizardry experiments on their slaves.

If not, Biowizardry Rogaine presents a solution for your facially folliclely challenged ogre....

And the Turning of a Page"

biowizardry is a way to enhance slaves and make money from paying customers.
Since granting a beard to an otherwise glabrous chinned T man accomplishes neither, Occam's razor prescribes that the beard is likely natural.

Re: Ogre facial hair
Isn't hair growth one of the side effects which can occur from excess Transmutation or premature removal?
