Need Help with Evil Character Creation

Unread post by Hadeshorn »

So my buddies and I are in the midst of a fairly epic campaign and we are currently playing "the evil guys."

Currently our party contains the following:

A Mechanoid
A Spirit Monster Man
A Fallen Cosmo Knight Soul Harvester
An ARCHIE Robot
A Necromancer/Shifter/Something else Godling Son of Set
A Villain from HU
A Zapper/Air Warlock/Speedy Godling Son of Sunaroo (Shinto Deity, sorry if I spelled wrong)

I am looking for interesting ideas for my "back-up characters" as this campaign tends to have a fairly high body count. Currently the only real "limit" is under 1000 MDC.

While not as grandiose as some evils, I think a Rawhead from Dark Conversions could be interesting to play in an evil campaign. Or perhaps a Namtar Hollow Man or Nightprince from Nightbane.

Lizard Mage (CB1: Revised p. 161). Max starting MDC is 1000 but only if you roll a 6 on a d6 (and if you do, you can just say that you rolled a 5 so you end up with 900 MDC if you are worried your GM won't let you have a character with a starting MDC of 1000). Scary powerful when it comes to magic (starts with 500 to 3000 PPE).

Syvan (CB1: Revised p. 179)are another race with decent starting MDC.

Rahu-Men (CB1: Revised p. 95) as starting MDC that is "kinda on the low side" when compared to other high power characters, but could still hold his/her own (especially considering the fact that they gain 4 additional hand to hand attacks per round on top of their HtH combat style. A second level Rahu-Man with Boxing and HtH: Assassin would have 10 attacks per round, and at level two!).

Mystically bestowed by Demon or Deevil from Armegedon Unlimited

Dragons of all shapes and sizes

Nightbane (Because evil doesn't always have to show it's evil appearance)

NSS Immortal via negative Chi who learned necromancy (or other darker magic)

A Godling of flesh and blood (Necromancer and Fleshsculpter magic powers)
Methos Darkblade

If you need over 1k MDC, you could go with about any Dragon adult (2-3 OCCs as adults anyone?)

For under 1k MDC i find that neo-humans work well with being bad guys, always good to have someone who could manipulate people into thinking they are doing the right thing.

A typical Lizard mage is a good place to go witht that too.

I particularly like Temporal Raiders and their Lackies. If done correctly they will open hell for the PC's (even litterally)

Modeous was fun to use as an antagonist as was the unholy and loki. Always fun there.

When you really want to do some damage, there is always a Cosmo Knight who thinks or knows that what the players are doing (most likely misguided by said Psychic above) will destroy innocents (thus making a Cosmo Knight an awsome rival) or empower the Evils that be (also being manipulated into doing what they perceive is the "Right" thing" which really is not. Making the Cosmo Knight their rival)

My picks would be a werecreature (not MDC but tough to kill) a pogtal giant (vamp kingdoms) or lizard Mage (already mentioned but they are seriously bad ass and fun to play)...and maybe a temporal raider? (? Because I mean the dbee not the class but can't remember if that's what they are called)

Why?

Evil people work with other evil people all the time.

All it takes is one of more of the following:
1. common goal
2. fear of reprisal
3. genuinely liking (or at least respecting) each other

Seems like too many people have the 'stupid evil' alignment in mind and think evil somehow can't get along with others no matter the circumstances and turn on each other just because they're evil. Evil people just like good have the ability to get along and cooperate with merely their personalities and mental issues determining how poorly or well they pull that off which is no different than with good people.

It's 'canon', not 'cannon'. A cannon is a big gun like on pirate ships, canon is what you mean when referring to something as being contained within one of the books such as how many dice to roll for a stat.

I agree. There are literally GOBS AND GOBS of examples of "evil" characters/beings working together to achieve ends. Take a look at many pantheons of darkness/demon lords/dyval lords/etc. they may not particularly CARE for each other but they work together to achieve common goals for their own respective reasons. Even mortal evil groups end up working together for their own reasons.

Also, remember, even diabolical characters can be loyal.

mystic knight, under powered for your game it would seem but they are rad

lizard mage gets to pick to magic occ's take temporal and necromancy, or techno wizard and your fave elemntal branch.....or go old school and make them half diabalist(or summmoner you have some large ppe's to barrow from) and half Shifter. (I think being half leyline walker and half high lord guy from federation might be to cheasey as you would end up with almost all the upper and all the lower tiers of magic to start )

How about a master psychic Cyber Knight that went bad?

Or a Mystic Knight demi-god with Shifter powers? All the awesome abilities of a mystic knight AND the ability to learn spells normally!

I definitely like the looks of the Lizard Mage.

As far as the alignments and cooperation goes, we've been brought together by Set to find some super powerful evil rune swords that we need in order to help stop the Four Horsemen. We've already played some of the "good guy" version of this where we did the same under Odin's employ. If we are successful, we all receive a wish from Set. Basically, we are working together, in terms of RP, because we respect each other's "flavor of evil" so to speak and none of us have competing goals, at the moment. The group did willingly sacrifice my first character, an evil Cheng-Ku Temporal Wizard, to an adult Fire Dragon in return for information about the first sword we were after.
