Rifts: Manhunter

Unread post by Zer0 Kay »

Just Wondering. The question was brought up in another post on the Rifts Forum.

Mods, is it possible to put this on this and the Rifts: Dimension forum? Thanks.

This may also end up being a good way for sellers and buyers to meet up.

Upon closer inspection, I see that I only have 4 copies of Manhunter. Still if someone (NinjaB) wants one, they are welcome to one of my extras. I could part with 2 of them. I need 1 signed, and 1 reference copy.

Maybe you sold it on Amazon, and I was the one who bought it a couple of weeks ago :) !

No, I think I miscalculated. I've sent out a few lots of books to a few people lately, I think it ended up in one a few weeks ago.

What does this even mean? Why don't I have those books? 20 years later, and I though I might have heard about them.

Before Rifts bought out Manhunter from Myrmidon Press, Myrmidon released Manhunter the RPG and had sourcebooks for it...

Update... Before Myrmidon released the book with the conversion to RIFTS... RIFTS didn't buy out Myrmidon, as it is clearly stated the book was still published by Myrmidon. YAWN...

Good to know. From the way you wrote Manhunter Manhunter, I thought maybe you were making it up. I'll have to keep an eye out now for a couple more books I may never see.

There are not a ton of them around, but they pop up on eBay now and then. It's nothing great to be honest, but if you use the Rifts Manhunter setting, then the sourcebooks would be very helpful! The Main book is very close to the Rifts one, just adapted.

Thanks Maxx. Scored both on Ebay for a grand total of $15. Which is pretty good for out of print with shipping. Both are very lightly used. Which is good enough for me.

Good deal then. I found them useful and not to hard to convert over. If nothing else, the story line stuff will be worth it for you. I was thinking about a Manhunter/mechanoids crossover but then thought it'd be way too much work. But I think a war between them, assuming one didn't assimilate the other would be interesting.

I have multiples of most Palladium books. I'm short about ten books total right now to have a complete collection, but as soon as I'm back on my feet again I'll get the one back issue I'm missing and the other new books I'm missing too.

Other than that, as far as I know, I've got a copy of everything Palladium has ever produced.

Let me clarify. I own Crimson editions (PFRPG), Gold editions (Rifts and RUE), the entire CCG (missing the B&W set though...grumble), shirts, psi-cola...everything they've produced.

Oh yeah, I also need to get the jacket.

I also own about ~500 pieces of original Palladium art. I used to own the original to the cover to Southern Cross and still own the original to the cover of R:UE. I also own the original of the only image of Victor Lazlo ever made, the original of the first appearance of Splynncryth, the original of the first Mark V APC, the triptych of the three types of vampire...God the list goes on and on.

*grin* I of course own the original of one of the two avatars on the forms that are of me and the original of Kev's avatar (Siembieda Scream). I'm supposed to give that to him next time we hang out...I keep forgetting.

Greetings!

I have one Rifts: Manhunter in decent shape, as it has seen plenty of use. Kirn are REALLY popular!
Also, my Mind Melter started out on Rifts Earth, but went to the Hunterverse, at about 4th-5th Level then went to the 3 Galaxies around 7th Level. Still laughing at Super TK'ing a trash can on a Type IV Manhunter's head!!!

Good memories, my fellow Gamers.

Thanks, we all appreciate and cherish this fantastic knowledge bestowed upon us. God, I think to myself what would gamers do without people like to keep our information straight. Once again, thanks on behalf of Myrmidon and KS for clearing up what clearly could have been a huge legal issue by not providing proper credit where it was due and could have lead to misinformation to everyone that plays RIFTS. Seriously though, thanks.

Dude, all I did was point something out. Had you kept your mouth shut, it'd have been done. Instead you had to whine because someone dared point out that you'd said something wrong. Had people continued to think that Manhunter was owned by Palladium, some might've started griping that Palladium didn't print more Manhunter books and other such things.

So once again, thanks for your understanding that there might be a reason why someone would point out that you were wrong when you said something and not behaving in such a manner when it takes place in the future, as it almost certainly* will. Up to you though - if you want to continue to look as you do and have tantrums for being wrong, that's your own concern.

My apologies, I thought my response was in fact about the post not the person who posted it.

As did I. Won't repeat it though.

There's a reason...and a very good one...that I have certain people in this forum blocked both here and on Facebook.

I can see an illustration of that nearly every time I come here.

I Have TWO Copies of RIFTS MANHUNTER.

Never used anything else however...

With a resounding yes! the question has been answered. Indeed, more than just 5 people own Rifts: Manhunter on these here forums. Way more than a dozen as was poorly speculated in a different thread. I declare myself the victor with over 3 and a half dozen people claiming to own copies and many of those claiming to own multiple copies (like myself). Damn it feels good to be a gangsta.

I read that the Manhunter Book and Sourcebook were both combined for the RIFTS edition. Can any completists confirm or deny? (I just ordered the RIFTS version off Amazon Marketplace.)

I don't think Myrmidon did that.

I am pretty sure the Myrmidon Manhunter Sourcebook actually expended further on the main book and I think it was mostly the main book that was used for the Rifts edition....mostly because there isn't really a TON of info in the Rifts edition really...though ti was an interesting setting which I use with Mechanoids to flesh out a much larger and epic version of Robotech :D
