Everyone mentioning how brittle crystal is compared to stone hasn't handled much stone. I've handled thousands of kilometers of drill core. It's a little thinner than a baseball bat. A 1meter piece taken from granite will shatter if you pick it up too fast. Same goes for any other type of rock I've come across. So if crystal weapons shatter on impact, so do stone ones.
