Re: Mutant Psychic powers question.
It's 1d4 abilities from each category. If it was 1d4 total abilities, it would be weaker than the lesser option listed directly before it. You still might roll a total of 3 (1 each category) if you are actually rolling in a random fashion as the book suggests. You would have 3 to 12 abilities, 1 to ...

No. Reverse engineering is just using exisiting skills to analyze something. You can't just have one skill to replace dozens of others. That's not how it works.

Under the psionic ability, you have no way of accessing the magic abilities of the demon, which is why it is complicated. You let the GM sort it out. As a GM, my question was about the differences between the psionic ability and the Transferral/Possession superability. The superability seems to give...

According to my source, HU2, Mentally Possess Others (page 312) does not grant the possessing individual and of the possessed person's knowledge, which I assume also means psionic abilities. Given that saving throws do not require an action and are not considered a psychic ability, I would say of course the psychic using Omni-Sight would be able to save vs. possession. Why wouldn't they? If the saving throw failed, the Omni-Sight would not be able to be used by the possessing individual...

OCCs replace skill programs, not Categories which determine powers and abilties. And as Drew said, that is for Rifts primarily. Some people make anything that pierces internal organs, like a stab wound, go direct to Hit Points on a called shot/strike. The idea that you can stab someone and not have them bleed out is also absurd. I always make players make a saving throw when they are stabbed and blood loss continues to cause...

They really need to make trauma tables lke the ones in the Compendium of Contemporary Weapons, only for stab wounds and such. You shouldn't be able to shrug off damage once it starts going to Hit Points.

There is always a margin of error. Slitting someone's throat is fairly easy but you might not press hard enough, or you may miss the artery. Swinging a blade, the blade could slip ouf of your hands or you could turn wrong and miss the target. The difficulty may not be too high in those instances but...

I think it depends on how the item is enchanted. Magical jewels can be transfered to a new item relatively easily. If the entire item is enchanted, I imagine fixing it would be more complicated. Sharpening an enchanted blade might affect the magical bonuses, for instance.

It's a weapon, not a tool. I would say that the shape has to be selected when creating the character and limiit it to a small number of other shapes if the power allows for that. My question would be if size and density of an object would be affected. Does reducing the mass make it easier to break or make it brittle. I realize the writer probably knows nothing of physics and I am just complicating the spell even more, but it would be nice to include those bits of information.
