~~ Special Forces...Riathenor Armor based idea...

This is one thing i almost always work into a game setting somewhere when i run Rifts or another PB setting.

Special Forces Group using Living Armors based off of the riathenors.
Armor is Symbiotic. Permantly attached to them however. Removal means "death".

50% Chance that the Human Intelligence transfers itself into the Living Armor. They can then take a "host" killing the new owner. Otherwise the new owner is in control as the old owner was.
This allows a Special Forces Soldier to survive past his "death".

I basicly use the Riathenors entire "Look".
They possess an Code of Honor system...Think Klingon Like Honor.
The Living Armor does make the owner more aggressive.

The Living Armors are the product of Science. Its both Technological and Biological at the same time...almost as if by Magic ;)

In Rifts i have found this "Special Forces" very useful.
Not overly Powerful. In the same league as a PA Pilot or Light Cyborg. The self-healing, and abilities make up for that.

At one time i used them as Part of the CS.
Later on in another game i made them part of Golden Age Military Special Forces *Delta Force* based...That survived the Rifts in Georga and Florida. Only recently "awaken" from a coma-like sleep the surge of PPE placed them in
In another game i had them in Space in combat with the Archons and the space colonies...Back from a "Bug Hunt" they were sent on outside of the solar system...

Anyways...Anyone use the "raithenor" armors for anything in their games ??
If so do tell.
Symbiotic (AU) or Parisitic version (AU-GG) ? ? or a Mixture but Differant ??

Wow, i just found this write up i did after i bought Splicers.

I Ported over a Single Splicer House (which split up into 4 houses later), and NEMA into my Rifts Earth setting. (never got to run that game btw).

Finding this has insired me again to try to work this into my current game we just started.

WRATHENOR Living Symbiotic Armors Mark 7

Wrathenor Armors are a feat of Engineering and Bio-Engineering marvel. The armors are “alive”.
The Splicer House which originally was Rifted to Rifts Earth 50 years ago started work on this new version of their Host Armors only 10 years ago when they discovered by accident That normal Technology no longer attacked them. The nano-Plague was Gone. Old Fears are hard to overcome though. The Leaders of the original house kept this to themselves. With the Help of Ex-NEMA scientists who were banished from the NEMA Mega-City “Olympus”, the house started a secret project to combine the best of both world. However, noone expected the High PPE levels of the Rifts Earth to help them out in this quest.

After six years they succeeded. The new Wrathenor Armors had their problems still though. All Wrathenor Armors feed on PPE/ISP of the Host. The living Suits absorb and spends HALF of the wearer’s ISP/PPE as soon as its put on. A Problem the Bio-genetic engineers cannot overcome is that in a very short time of 96 Hours (4 full days), the suit is begins to permanently graft itself to the wear’s body. If the suit has been worn for 96-120 hours (4-5 days) the armor must be peeled off of him by others in a process that takes 4d6+20 minutes, inflicts 2d6 direct to HP and may leave scarring (01-33% reduce PB by One, 34-50% reduce PB by Two). At 120-144 (5-6 days) the connections grow stronger, Inflicts 4d6 to HP (01-75% reduce PB by 2, 76-95% reduce PB by 3). AT 7 Days the Armor is Permanently Grafted itself to the wearer. Removal at this point Kills the wearer.

Wrathenor Armors posses many ablities unique to themselves from other Host Armor. They cannot be upgraded. They upgrade themselves somehow. The abilities are more limited than normal Host Armors, though the all possess roughly the same abilities.

All Wrathenor Armors possess :
Survive in any Environment. Breathe without Air, survive in the Vacuum of Outer Space, in Toxic atmospheres, and Under water (2 miles depth). Impervious to Toxins, Disease, Poisons, Gases, Heat and Fire (even MD heat-fire) and radiation. Heightened Senses including Ultraviolet Vision, Infrared Vision, Heightened Hearing (all equal to the super-powers), Supernatural PS, PE, Bio-regenerates 1d4x10 every 30 minutes (even from what appears to be death). Leap 25 feet High, 30 Across. Magic and Psionics effect have full effect. Natural Blades are treated as Rune Weapons, and Energy weapons are treats as Magical Energy.

Psionic : None (The Wrathenor armor eats up too much ISP/PPE)
HP-SDC : Same as Riathenors (See Aliens Unlimited Galaxy Guide - Riathenors for full details)
Armor Innate PPE : 3d6x10, +10 per Level of experience.
Feeding : Owners’s personal ISP/PPE. The suit negates any psychic or magic powers of the wearer. The suit cannot kill the wearer through feeding.

I know these guys are not as Powerful they seem.
They are roughly Equal to Power Armor in Power Level. Their Innate magics tip the scales their way though...

After i posted this i thought it would be a cool idea to add :

The engineers who created the Wrathenor Armors used Alien DNA from an unknown Alien species a group encountered. They recovered several metal football sized objects.

In essence the engineers found a way to make Riathenor Armors without a mind of its own.

Wrathenor Armored Warriors Level up differantly from normal OCCs.

Under 100 years = Level 1-8 = Young Armor
100 - 200 years = Level 9-12 = Mature Armor
200+ = Levels 13+ = Old Armor

Owners of Wrathenor Armor who become permantly bonded to the armor cease to Age anymore. The can live for 3,000+ years, if not killed in combat. Few Wrathenor Armor wears will live to 100 years though, fewer still will ever make it to 200 or older...

Riathenors themselves will see the Wrathenor just as another Riathenor.

Had an alien intelligence that gifted its Avatars and High Priests with symbiotic armor reminescent of the Riathenor armor, and made from the substance of the Alien INtelligence itself...That count?
