If the Vampire Intelligence that was responsible for the creation of a Wampyr is killed. What effect if any would this have upon the Wampyr?

Hard to say. Wampyrs are "aberrations". They do not have all the powers of other vampires, but they are transformed. So... whatever your GM thinks works. Perhaps the effect on each Wampyr is different. <Shrug>

If you play megaversally, perhaps Rifts WB1r can help your GM rule on what happens - the death of a VI destroys "ALL of its vampire legions" (WB1r pg 98). That would include independently minded Secondaries, since the link to the VI is the vampiric essence. Given the game concept of the vampiric essence, it would also be fair to say that the Wampyr is a result of infection from part of that essence no matter how slight and, as such, the Wampyr dies with the VI too. Alternatively, one could argue the essence was destroyed during the transformation into a Wampyr and there might be no consequence should the VI be killed. Again, it's your GM's call.

I would think that while Wampyrs have been transform, they don't have the splinter fragment of the VI that traditional vampires. Which is why they are different.

Yeah, the lack of specifics as to why they are different lets GMs and players play wampyrs however they want. This explanation is as good as any other :ok:
