300 points UEDF

Unread post by GaiusHarlock »

keep in mind that I am working with what I have at the moment...

300 points, 2 Core Squadrons (1 Core Valkyrie Squadron, 1 Core Destroid Squadron)

Valkyrie Squadron (5)
1 VF-1S
4 VF-1R
Squadron cost 130 points.

Destroid Squadron (8)
Tomahawk (Dietrich +10pts)
Tomahawk (Command Destroid Upgrade +10pts)
Defender (Freeman Davidoff +5pts)
Defender
Spartan (Kain Weller +5pts)
2 Phalanx
Squadron cost 160 points

Total Command points 19 ( 1 for each mecha (13) + 3 for the VF-1S + 2 for the Command Destroid Upgrade + 1 for Dietrich= 19)
Total Force 290 points

what do you guys think.... have not played the game yet (still in assembly mode) but this is my in theory list for the right now
as always I am open to constructive criticism but any changes at this point will require future purchases and currently I'm only looking to add Valkyries but not til wave 2 is released

The Valk squad is pretty tight...and good all around.

You got a diverse Destroid squad. I only see 7 mecha, not the eight listed. Missing a spartan. Good all around, but you will probably end up splitting them up into two groups and operating independantly. The trick will be to get LOS with Phalanx while defending against the onslaught. Good opponants will want to limit the firepower of the Phalanx early on and target them with anything they can. Defenders are great units, only lacking is they are limited to the weapons they can employ. Get into a position were you can target an enemy squad with the Tomahawks, backed by the Defenders, and a pool of command points to use, and let the fireworks go. With all of the various weapon systems the Tomahawk has, it will eat command points, but can be very effective. Plus use the Command points to Rapid fire the Defenders cannons. The Spartans are good, but in this squad you need something to watch over the Phalanxs, so you might hold them back. If you are playing against a Zent Hoard of Pods, getting into HtH is almost useless when you are surrounded by battlepods. It would be better use to provide cover for the Phalanxes, making little use of Kain Weller. In this squad, he's kinda useless, unless the right situation occurs.

Nice solid start!

It looks like you just threw ever model you have built into a force. For the remaining 10 points why not include a VF pilot, like Rick or Max?

My suggestion would be the following, as it will allow your VFs to survive a bit longer.

Core Valkyrie Squadron (80); 1x VF-1J, 3x VF-1A
Valkyrie support squad (40); 2x VF-1A
VF-1S (30); 1x VF-1S
Rick Hunter (10)
Ben Dixon (5)

Core Destroid Squadron, Fire Support(60); 2x Phalanx, 2x Defender
Tomahawk support squad (40); 2x Tomahawk
Command Destroid upgrade (10)
Defender air-burst weapon upgrade (5)
Phalanx Scorpio Arty weapon upgrade (15) - much need blast to deal with battle pods
Freeman Davidoff (5)

How's that?

Did you get a Brawler Squadron Card? I didn't! It's still listed as 70pts on the kickstarter page, is it actually 60 pts?

I like your second list a lot better than the first one.

One thing I learned is that some of the cards are mixed up in their packs. And they stick together. I believe there
are only 2 Brawler cards in all the cards you received. to double check, do what I did and lay out all the cards
one at a time, matching them to their units.

Heck, my first times through, I thought I did not get a Regult Artillery squadron or UEDF Area Denial Squadron.

I've been through my cards a dozen times, trust me,. There's no Brawler card in there. Maybe mine got missed somehow. It was supposed to be in every Battle Cry?

I didn't see a brawler Card in the Battlecry, but it is in the seperate Tomahawk/Defender box.
