Links for Dropzone Commander 10mm Cityscape by Hawk *not 6mm

Here is a site that has them for $32 plus shipping which seems to be about $7 flat for no matter how many you get. (I put in 4).

Here is a direct link to the Hawk product.

note that these are designed for a 10mm scale game, while tacticis is (more or less) a 6mm scale one. it should be close enough to work, but the details might seem a bit odd at times.

Here is a link the the 10mm downloadable buildings from Hawk which are free and can be printed at home. They are set for European paper sizes. They have been reduced to the correct 6mm size for Robotech RPG Tactics (60%) and links can be found here in regular 8.5x11 sizes.

i'm guessing you spliced in some extra sections to increase the building foorprint?

10mm is close enough that you can certainly use it.. you just have to keep in mind that any future terrain you get needs to be the same scale. it's the blend of 6mm and 10mm that will look oddest.

the larger building is a premade building from a dropzone commander cityscape set

the smaller 6mm building is from the set me and kryptt posted to here and is also on the kickstarter comments section

a top view of the same to buildings there tops are different but reason i chose them was there outside looked the same

Depends on how anal retentive ones crew is.

I plan to repurpose some 28mm terrain.

Photo ops of that oughta blow some minds.

I'm using a ton of binder clips to hold the top flaps in on the smaller buildings. It works great so far. Paper clips weren't cuttin it. I'm also using liquid glue so it will spread out inside and cover more of the area. I did use a glue stick for gluing the roof in.

As an FYI, there are rumours that the company "Games and Gears" will be putting out a Kickstarter in the next week or two for table top miniatures battle boards, including an option for surfaces that could be used for RRT, and may include an option to get some DZC cityscape buildings as well.

Games and Gears wrote:Regarding the DZC boards on Robotech Tactics. It should work sweetly together. The buildings however will be a tad big. As we will be doing a special building pack only for this with Hawk Wargames which you can get separately.

Here's some free DZ terrain formatted for RRT.

I've already made a couple and I have to say I'm happy to have them. Hope you fellow valkyrie pilots find them useful too. Their not mine credit goes to Mike Morpheus for scaling them down

Also will there be any robotech avatars available at some point?

I believe it was a poster named Steve who initially rescaled them and combined them on 8.5x11 instead of the European size they were. The Mike saved those files. I could be mistaken, but I saved that initial batch from the Steve guy as well. They are the same files.

those are his own rules that he has made up, as no rules have been released yet. They are extrapolated from bits of information given by Palladium, and I think he was using 1st Edition rules at one point to compensate for rules he didn't have. It is a homebrew that he is using til we actually get the rules from Palladium.

At this point I have 40 buildings and 40 1'x1' ground tiles. Unless they are that awesome and the value is that great I think I am good for now. I just picked up a 4'x4' train table for the kids that has some grass and water marked on it so I can use that for non-cityscape stuff. If the Games and Gears stuff is that cool, I may invest in that as well.

I have an 8'x4' whiteboard table in the basement for this purpose and I have a foldable 4'x4' grassmat surface for it. If I need additional space, I'm probably at a con. hahaha.

I plan on using all 8 feet for large games like an invasion of Macross city. It will be pretty sweet, but I'll need to get a couple more players.

I got this to park at the end of the table to act like another ship type surface. It is no SDF, but it works for a ship like terrain. Over 3 ft long says the box. Eventually I will clean off table space in the basement and I have a large desk I could use for small games. For now I will be sharing gaming space with the kiddos.

Well, according to them, their battle boards fit together and are strong enough to support being up to a foot off the edge of the table, which is pretty appealing. My biggest surfaces at home are around 3' x 4' or so, which was plenty for Malifaux (which plays on a 3' x 3' area), but since this goes from 4' x 4' to 4' x 6', having a game board that could fulfilling that role would be useful.

Of course, there remain issues with people forgetting it's not supported and leaning on it, so I'm also keeping an eye out for tables, but cost effective foldable tables in the 4x4 range don't seem to be common at Walmart or Canadian Tire and their ilk, and the condo only has so much space available anyway.

So yeah, I'm keeping an eye out, and apparently they'll have shipping covered in the UK, US, Canada and a few other locales, so $100 might go pretty far. They've also been putting off the campaign for quite some time in order to have things lined up and be able to go into production and delivery quickly, but that like all KS's remains to be seen.

... too easy.

Anyway, shall do.

I have two card tables. I should check the size. I have a feeling it will either end up as 4x8 or 3x6. I'd guess the smaller, but it would work out great if they are larger. Time to head on down to the basement to check.

20 buildings constructed and they look sharp. I'll try setup the train table as a city and take a pic. I'll have to find the time to do it when the kids aren't up because I won't let the 2 or 4 year old near these paper buildings.

Here is a site that has paper buildings that also have destroyed versions inside the normal outer shell. I think they look a little better than the dropzone ones and you can put stuff inside the destroyed stuff, unlike the dropzone stuff.
