#1 Well I'm gonna let this go. I think suffic (sp?) to say we both have different opinions on this. Neither of which is gonna change. Read the article at http://www.rkba.org/research/fackler/wrong.html . I stopped paying attantion to gunrag writer's opinions about bullet effectiveness years ago.

On the other hand, it has a hell of a lot of moving parts compared to many other semi-autos, and that means more things to go wrong. Add to that a scenario where parts are at a premium or such (TEOTWAWKI or the like) and it becomes more of an issue. It is also quite hefty to lug around (eight hours...

I believe Mongoose has suspended production of miniatures for Battlefield Evolution due to quality control issues. However, I use 1/72 scale models in my Twilight:2000 game. There is a pretty good selection of vehicles available in 1/72 scale, and prices tend to be under $15, and often $10 per kit. ...

I got to shoot a SIG 550 over in Switzerland (also got to shoot a SIG 510.) SIG has just released an Americanized version of the rifle, the SIG 556.

Real life rail guns do not have regular recoil since the round is pulled and pushed down the rails. They make a heck of a racket though. Lasers do not have recoil either. Though IMO plasma ejectors and ion weapons would have some recoil but not too much. A ‘borg or PA would not even notice it. The ...

In any case, I prefer a "G" based system for STL speeds. That doesn't quite jive... "G" is a measure of acceleration, 9.8 meters per second per second Speed is just meters per second. So, you need a different unit of measurement for speed/velocity. Mach works well. You could just, for space's sake,...

I don't recall any recoil from any flashlight I've ever used. I should hope not! Geez... photons have momentum, but not that much... Re: Laser Weapon Recoil (aka I'm bored) :D
Just for fun, I thought I'd do a completely off-hand calculation of what the recoil might be for an MDC-class laser weapon. I'm assuming a 1D6MD laser pistol can vaporize a 10cm x 10cm x 10cm block of iron completely in one shot. Does that seem reasonable? I'm also assuming that Rifts laser weapons...

Thus even a super powerful laser would...

You still haven't said that a laser can't be in a blue-green harmonic that is not visible with the naked eye. An invisible visible color? The color blue-green (somewhere btw 475 & 510 nm) falls within the visual spectrum. The average human eye can see the entire range of colors within the visua...
